Correct installation is as important as comfort when using a children's swing. Even a well-made swing is not safe if it is fixed to an unsuitable ceiling or support point. Always consider the product instructions together with the load-bearing capability of the structure.
Confirm the support is suitable
The fixing point should not be only decorative cladding, plasterboard or another non-load-bearing surface. If you are unsure about the ceiling or beam, have its suitability checked by a qualified building professional or installer. Mounting hardware cannot make an unsuitable structure safe.
Check the supplied hardware
Use anchors, carabiners, ropes and other components according to the product instructions. Do not continue with installation if a part is missing, deformed or incompatible.
Do not exceed age or load guidance
Recommended age and load capacity can differ between products. Check the product page and instructions. Avoid uses the product was not designed for, such as allowing more than one child to use it at the same time unless specifically permitted.
Leave clear space around the swing
Keep walls, furniture, windows and sharp corners out of the swing's movement path. The floor should also be appropriate for the use area. Leave sufficient clearance to reduce impact risk.
Inspect rope and connections regularly
After installation, inspect attachment points periodically. Stop use and assess the part if you see rope wear, a deformed carabiner, looseness at a fixing point or damage to the fabric.
Adult supervision
Babies and young children should use a swing under adult supervision. A safety belt, where provided, does not replace supervision; both should be used as intended.
